Two of the former UW-Milwaukee players from last year's 20-win team, Austin Arians and Akeem Springs, chose where they will be finishing their college career. Arians will be attending Wake Forest and Springs will head north to Minnesota. Both players will try to make a difference with squads who had bad seasons in 2015.
Wisconsin was said to have interest in Arians, but the Madison native decided to go to out-of-state versus his hometown team. My guess is the Demon Deacons provide more of an opportunity to play even if the success might not be there. Arians will be a big help to the team as the Deacs only shot 31 percent from three last season.
Springs will likely get to start at Minnesota as well. The struggling Golden Gophers had a terrible season with multiple players kicked off the team. Springs would have been the second-leader scorer at Minnesota last season.
Charlie.
