A week ago, I wondered if the Cleveland Browns would trade out of the number two position in the NFL Draft. I mentioned Philadelphia or San Francisco having interest in the spot. Well, Eagles decided to take a chance and make a mega deal to the Browns sending over five draft picks including a first-round pick next season.
Cleveland needed more draft picks, simple as that. They have a ton of building to do as Cleveland let many free agents go this offseason. Browns put themselves in position to get some real talent in the coming years. This needs to be the anti-Julio Jones trade, and Browns need to bring in playmakers all over the field.
Are we sure Philadelphia is drafting a quarterback? I wouldn't be shocked if Laremy Tunsil or Ronnie Stanley's name gets called versus whichever quarterback is left, Jared Goff or Carson Wentz. Call me crazy, but this isn't a tackle-heavy draft after those two players. I'm sure it's for a quarterback, but floating it out there in case it does happen.
Charlie.
