Going For Green Jacket: Spieth vs. McIlroy

Going for the green jacket will be a daily wrap-up of Augusta finishing up on Monday morning  We'll have check in on Friday and Saturday as well.

Augusta can be a beast, and the fangs came out on Friday. Almost everyone on the course struggled with the tough wind conditions as only four golfers were under par. Not one golfer ended up being two under for the day. Even though the course proved to be very hard, it led us with something we've been waiting for a long time - Jordan Spieth and Rory McIlroy in a final group in a major on the weekend.

This is a dream for CBS and golf fans everywhere to see Spieth and McIlroy do battle on Saturday where the conditions figure to be the same. Both might find trouble as the course will be very dry by the time they head out there mid-afternoon. Mentally, I give Spieth the edge in this duel as he has significantly less pressure on him with McIlroy seeking his first Masters. I wouldn't be surprised if they end up together in the final pairing Sunday.

Even though the two top golfers are on top of the leaderboard, this is a wide-open golf tournament. Anyone can make a run. Keep an eye on Dustin Johnson, Brandt Snedeker, Jason Day and Hideki Matsuyama. All four could make a big-time push towards the top.

Few quick hitters
- Bryson DeChambeau needs to be a full-time golfer this summer. He's awesome. I like his style and the attitude he plays the game of golf. He will piss some people off, but it's not crazy to think he can contend for majors very soon.

- Many greats missed the cut with Rickie Fowler, Phil Mickelson, Charl Schwartzel and Graeme McDowell. Both McDowell and Mickelson were around even par on Thursday then absolutely blew up Friday to miss the cut.

- Bubba Watson will play with Masters marker Jim Knox who gets to mark all of the holes at Augusta National. Knox doesn't keep score, but he has taken down Craig Stadler, Sergio Garcia and McIlroy.

Charlie.
