Marquette Golden Eagles added to their 2016-2017 roster by getting Katin Reinhardt from USC to join the roster as a graduate transfer. The 6'6 guard-forward from Laguna Beach will trade in flip flops for boots playing for the Golden Eagles. Reinhardt does not give Marquette the size needed with the absence of Luke Fischer, but he adds more shooting to the mix as a career. Reinhardt shot 38 and 37 percent from deep during his two years with the Trojans.
Marquette might be looking at the Villanova approach to do things with a guard-heavy and three-point heavy team. Markus Howard, Sam Hauser, Reinhardt and transfer Andrew Rowsey can all rain threes. The small ball season is here for Marquette, and it will be interesting to see the contrast from the team last season. Golden Eagles did shoot a lot of threes last season, but they did not have the known shooters like they will next season.
Charlie.
