Going for the green jacket will be a daily wrap-up of Augusta finishing up on Monday morning We'll have check in on Friday and Saturday as well.
Jordan Spieth didn't have this world domination tour in 2016. After winning the first tour event of the calendar year, Spieth hasn't regained that best in the world confidence which won him two majors last season. This was until he arrived at Augusta National on Thursday morning. Spieth followed up his Masters win with a 66, bogey-free round for a two-stroke lead over Shane Lowry and Danny Lee.
Spieth handled the wind better than most golfers on the course, and that helped propel him to the top of the leaderboard yet again. No golfer handled Augusta better than the 21-year-old. It will be very interesting to see where things are on Friday night.
Few quick hitters
- Rickie Fowler shooting an 80 blows my mind. He will have to shoot a 66 or 65 likely to make the cut. I never expected this rough of a day from him.
- The back nine proved to be extremely hard. Many people blew up down stretch such as Jason Day, Bubba Watson and Rory McIlroy (Not as severe as the first two).
- There's an early European invasion with eight of the top 12 low scores are from overseas. Billy Horschel, Scott Piercy and Spieth are the only top Americans. Lee is the lone Oceanic member.
Charlie.
