A stunner came through this morning when the Los Angeles Rams announced they traded for the number one pick for five picks with three this year and two next year. Los Angeles is taking a massive risk here, but if Carson Wentz or Jared Goff ends up being a superstar, the trade made all the sense in the world for them. But the question is will this change the draft entirely or just the number one pick?
Looking at the Cleveland Browns, they would love to do something like the Titans did yesterday, but it will not happen until it's confirmed whom the Rams will draft. That is unless a team is enamored with both quarterbacks and don't care who they have on the roster. From all I've read, Cleveland will draft Connor Cook of Michigan State in the second round. They seem to have him as their target more so than any first round quarterback. Browns could make a deal with San Francisco or Philadelphia and earn a couple more draft picks in return
The run of quarterbacks should end with Goff and Wentz, but that doesn't mean trades will be limited to the top two spots. I do think more top ten teams will fish around the mid-round to see if others want to move up given what Los Angeles gave up today.
